Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship

UC Irvine School of Medicine offers a one-year forensic psychiatry fellowship in collaboration with California Department of State Hospitals — Metropolitan (in Norwalk, CA)

The fellowship is accredited by the American Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Who is eligible?

The forensic psychiatry fellowship is available to applicants who have completed or will have completed their PGY-4 year in a psychiatry residency program before July 1, 2018.

The residency program must be accredited by the ACGME or the Royal Medical Society of Canada.

  • Personal statement expressing interest (1,000 word limit)
  • Three letters of recommendation, with one from your residency or fellowship program director
  • Example of an appropriately redacted forensic report or other writing samples such as a publication
